GridM BNG · Session termination

Terminate every subscriber. See every session.

GridM BNG terminates PPPoE and IPoE at line rate, with QinQ and option-82 awareness, and gives your NOC a live, filterable view of every session on the network, down to a one-click realtime graph per subscriber.

Illustration mirrors the shipping GridM BNG console. Identifiers are fictional.

What ships in the box

  • PPPoE (PAP/CHAP) and IPoE with DHCPv4 option-82 awareness
  • 802.1Q and QinQ (S-VLAN/C-VLAN) subscriber encapsulation
  • Hundreds of thousands of concurrent sessions per node
  • Per-VLAN, per-OLT and per-partner session views
  • Session sync between nodes for stateful failover

Storm-safe session setup

After a power cut or access outage, thousands of CPEs reconnect at once. Session bring-up is engineered for reconnect storms, so the control plane absorbs the surge instead of melting under it.

Find any session in seconds

Filter live sessions by username, partial MAC, IPv4, IPv6 WAN or delegated prefix, flat VLAN or either QinQ tag, access type or CGNAT IP. The console even decodes NIC vendors from MACs.

One click to the live graph

Click a username and get a live bandwidth chart with current rates against plan, uptime, session totals, addresses, DDoS history and NAT state on one card, with disconnect right there.

FAQ

Session termination, in detail

A software BNG (also called a virtual BNG or vBNG) implements the Broadband Network Gateway function, subscriber session termination, AAA, addressing and QoS, as software on standard x86 servers instead of a proprietary hardware chassis. GridM BNG is a cloud-native software BNG: it terminates PPPoE and IPoE sessions at line rate on commodity NICs and runs on bare metal, VMs or Kubernetes.
